About Underplayed Gems

Underplayed Gems is an independent project: a field guide to older and obscure games, built for the people who go looking for them. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by any game publisher.

Where the data comes from

Quiz photographs

Dreamworld, the quiz game, asks some of its geography questions with a picture. Those photographs come from Wikimedia Commons: many are public domain, the rest are under a CC BY or CC BY-SA licence, and every one of them is listed below with the person who took it. The outline maps are drawn from Natural Earth, which is public domain.

AI-generated text

Game descriptions, "vibe" tags, and "what players say" summaries are generated by AI from factual metadata. They are our own editorial text, not the publisher's, and they can be imperfect. If something reads wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.

Cover images & takedown

Box art and cover thumbnails are shown small and low-resolution, solely to identify the games being catalogued, the same way search engines and game databases do. All rights to the artwork remain with their respective owners; no ownership is claimed and no endorsement is implied.

If you hold rights to something shown here and want it removed or credited differently, email fuwahanakishidev@gmail.com, and it will be handled promptly, no formalities needed.
