The 3D catalog: game boxes on wooden shelves, with the cat sitting at the counter next to its greeting.

The catalog in 3D

The same catalog has a room you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real games from it when you tell them what you feel like playing. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this game is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

How it feels

A laid-back, unhurried simulation of tossing boules that feels more like a quiet afternoon pastime than a thrilling competition.

About

Petanque Pro is a Sports game, developed by Mere Mortals and published by Bigben Interactive, which was released in Europe in 2007. Claiming to be the first-ever pétanque video game, Pétanque Pro is the rare video game simulating the French sport of pétanque, a game similar to lawn bowling or bocce in which players must throw or roll boules (balls) closer to the target ball than their opponents. With support for 1-2 players, the game features three playing fields -- a village, a garden, and a covered stadium -- along with tournament and quick game modes.
