How it feels
A somber, gothic RPG that blends pre-WWI historical tension with supernatural dread, where every battle and story beat carries a weight of fate and loss.

About
Shadow Hearts is the first official game in the Shadow Hearts series and is the sequel to Koudelka. Shadow Hearts follows the adventures of Yuri Hyuga, a Harmonixer guided by a mysterious voice in his head. He finds himself thrown into the conflicts prior to World War I where he must save the world and the woman he loves from destruction.
What players say
A cult-classic JRPG drenched in Lovecraftian gothic horror set around World War I, distinguished by its tense rhythm-based Judgment Ring combat and sanity system. Underappreciated at launch with rough visuals, it earned a devoted fanbase for its unusual atmosphere and characters.
