మొదట ఈ చిత్రానికి కలియుగసీత అనే పేరు అనుకున్నారు. కానీ విడుదల సమయానికి కలియుగ స్త్రీ అని పేరు మార్చారు. ఈ సినిమా జూలై 20, 1978న విడుదలయ్యింది. పర్వతనేని సాంబశివరావు దర్శకత్వంలో వచ్చిన ఈ చిత్రం లో చంద్రమోహన్ , జయసుధ జంటగా నటించారు . ఈ చిత్రానికి సంగీతం చెళ్లపిళ్ల సత్యం సమకూర్చారు.
