The 3D catalogue: film cases on wooden shelves, with the cat sitting at the counter next to its greeting.

The catalogue in 3D

The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this film is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

What happens

The Great Reset is a 2025 Spanish science fiction thriller film written and directed by Daniel H. Torrado. Produced by Virtual World Pictures and Canary Film Factory, with the participation of EPC Media, the film was made using a production pipeline composed of generative artificial intelligence tools within a human-supervised workflow: no physical actors, sets, or locations appear on screen. Following market screenings at the European Film Market in February 2025, the Marché du Film of the Cannes Film Festival in May, and the American Film Market later that year, the film premiered in Los Angeles in November 2025. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences subsequently included it on the list of productions eligible for the 98th Academy Awards published in January 2026. Several media outlets described the film as the first feature film produced entirely with generative artificial intelligence tools to meet the Academy's eligibility requirements.
