House of Horror is a 1929 American sound part-talkie comedy mystery film directed by Benjamin Christensen. In addition to sequences with audible dialogue or talking sequences, the film features a synchronized musical score and sound effects along with English intertitles. According to the film review in Variety, only 1 percent of the total running time featured dialogue. This very short dialogue sequence was inserted immediately after the starting titles and was apparently added so that the picture could be disingenuously advertised as a talkie.
