భక్తజయదేవ 1939లో విడుదలైన తెలుగు చలనచిత్రం. 1938లో బొబ్బిలి రాజా, రాజా శ్వేతా చలపతి రామకృష్ణ రంగారావు, చిక్కవరం జమీందారు ఆర్‌.జె.కె. రంగారావులు కలిసి విశాఖ పట్నంలో ఆంధ్రా సినీటోన్‌ స్టూడియోస్‌ను నెలకొల్పారు. అదే ఈనాటి ఈనాడు పత్రికాకార్యాలయం. వీరు తొలి చిత్రంగా విశాఖపట్నంలో భక్తజయదేవను నిర్మించారు. ఈ సినిమాతో సురభి కమలాబాయి మళ్ళీ తెలుగు సినిమాలలో నటించడం ప్రారంభించింది. విశాఖపట్నంలోని ఆంధ్రా సినీ టోన్ అనే చిత్ర నిర్మాణ సంస్థ ఆధ్వర్యంలో రూపుదిద్దుకున్న ఈ చిత్రాన్ని తెలుగు, బెంగాళీ భాషలలో నిర్మించారు. ఈ ఆ చిత్రంలో రెంటచింతల సత్యనారాయణ, సురభి కమలాబాయి ముఖ్య పాత్రధారులు. తెలుగులో రెంటచింతల సత్యనారాయణ, సురభి కమలాబాయి, పి. శాంతకుమారి నటించగా, బెంగాలీలో బెంగాలీ తారలు నటించారు. రెండు భాషలలోనూ కమలాభాయే కథానాయకి. ఆ చిత్రానికి హిరేన్ బోస్ అనే బెంగాలీ ఆయన దర్శకుడు. ఆయనే సంగీత దర్శకత్వం కూడా నిర్వహించాడు. అయితే ఆయన సాంకేతిక పరిజ్ఞానం అంతంత మాత్రం కావడంతో చిత్ర నిర్మాణం సరిగా సాగలేదు. నిర్మాణం ఆగిపోయి నిర్మాతలకు భారీగా నష్టం వచ్చే పరిస్థితిలో కథానాయిక పాత్ర ధరించడంతో పాటు దర్శకత్వం, ఎడిటింగ్ కూడా తనే నిర్వహించి, చిత్రాన్ని పూర్తి చేసి అందర్నీ ఆశ్చర్యపరచింది కమలాబాయి. అయితే చిత్రం టైటిల్స్ లో మాత్రం దర్శకుడిగా హిరెన్ బోస్ పేరే కనబడుతుంది.
