What happens

Lacrime di sangue è un film del 1944 diretto da Guido Brignone Luisa, una giovane orfana, viene accolta nella casa di un ricco agricoltore che le fa da padre. Una sera, rientrato in casa in preda ai fumi dell'alcool, violenta la ragazza ma poi, pentito del suo gesto, decide di sposarla. Malgrado la differenza di età e malgrado l'opposizione dei familiari e le maldicenze dei compaesani, fa preparare i documenti per il matrimonio. Poco tempo prima delle nozze, l'uomo viene ucciso e Luisa viene invitata, senza mezzi termini, ad abbandonare la casa. Senza risorse e con un bambino in arrivo, la ragazza passa attraverso innumerevoli difficoltà, ma la sorte si accanisce contro di lei: una malattia le porta via il figlio e la forza di lottare viene meno. Luisa finisce ospite di una "casa con le persiane chiuse" e, qualche tempo dopo, incontra un nipote del possidente che stava per sposare, anche lui ridotto in miseria.
