Käsikirjoitus pohjautuu ulkopuolisilta hankittuun alkuperäisaiheeseen, joskin tuotantoyhtiöllä oli ollut valmisteilla saman niminen elokuva. Aiheiden yhtäläisyydet olivat kuitenkin vähäiset.
