Dream Girl is a 1948 American romantic comedy film directed by Mitchell Leisen and starring Betty Hutton and Macdonald Carey with Patric Knowles, Virginia Field, Walter Abel and Peggy Wood. Produced and released by Paramount Pictures, it is adapted from the 1945 play of the same name written by Elmer Rice. The film marked Hutton's return to the screen after a year long hiatus. Hutton, a singer and then Paramount's top female musical star who was rarely dubbed, is dubbed in the "One Fine Day (Un Bel Di)" aria from Madama Butterfly by soprano Nandine Conner. Dream Girl stars Betty Hutton as Georgina Allerton, a daydreaming debutante and Macdonald Carey as a newspaper man who's smitten for Georgina. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
