A Hindu mythological film based on the legend of Bhishma, it marked the only mythological acting role of Nargis' career; she received negative reviews for her performance. Other members of the cast included Shahu Modak, Misra, Purnima, Kumar, Mahipal, and Nimbalkar. The film was produced by her brother, Akhtar Hussain, under the banner of Nargis Art Concern.
