What happens
Taikayö on William Markuksen ohjaama suomalainen tukkilaiselokuva vuodelta 1954. Vielä 1950-luvun puolivälin tuntumassa tukkilaiselokuvat olivat suomalaisten suuressa suosiossa. Musiikkipitoinen Taikayö perustuu Reino Helismaan sanoittamaan samannimiseen Metro-tyttöjen levyttämään lauluun, joka nousi elokuvan myötä uuteen suosioon. Elokuva on Markuksen esikoisohjaus. Hän oli edellisenä vuonna ollut apulaisohjaajana kahdessa elokuvassa, Hilja – maitotytössä ja Varsovan laulussa. Taikayö kuului SF:n 20-vuotisjuhlaohjelmistoon. Elokuvan pienissä rooleissa on monia myöhempien aikojen kuuluisuuksia kuten Pentti Siimes Oswald Haggrenin roolissa. Tauno Söder näyttelee ensimmäisessä elokuvaroolissaan. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
