Porto das Caixas é um filme brasileiro de 1962, do gênero drama, dirigido por Paulo Cesar Saraceni com roteiro baseado em argumento original de Lúcio Cardoso. Faz parte da primeira fase do movimento Cinema Novo e foi o primeiro longa-metragem de Saraceni. O filme é dedicado ao artista plástico Oswaldo Goeldi, influência visível na fotografia e concepção visual da obra. O argumento de Lúcio Cardoso foi inspirado no caso real do "crime da machadinha", ocorrido no Rio de Janeiro nos anos 1960, e transposto para o distrito de Porto das Caixas, no município de Itaboraí, estado do Rio de Janeiro. O filme integra a "trilogia da paixão" dirigida por Saraceni e baseada nas obras de Lúcio Cardoso, composta também por A Casa Assassinada (1971) e O Viajante (1998). (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
