The catalogue in 3D

The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this film is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

How it feels

A Hindi film from 1960 about two neighbours who fall in love, but their parents do not approve of the match. It was made to show off the lead actress's dancing and was a modest success in its day, though no prints are known to survive.

What happens

Girl Friend is a 1960 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Satyen Bose. Its music was composed by Hemanta Kumar Mukherjee. The film stars Kishore Kumar and Waheeda Rehman, marking their only film together. Its story centres on a romance between neighbours whose relationship faces opposition from their parents. The film was initially titled Tricycle and was partly financed by actor Bipin Gupta. It was conceived as a vehicle for showcasing Rehman's dancing abilities. Girl Friend was reviewed in The Times of India as a "good time-killer" and performed moderately well in Bombay and Calcutta upon release. The film's prints are reportedly no longer available.
