How it feels

A musical comedy about a salaryman named Zenta Yamakawa who works at a Japanese travel agency during the 1960s economic boom. He tries to get ahead by any means necessary, including urging his honest colleague to cozy up to the boss's mistress. Complications arise when the boss's daughter returns from America with modern business ideas and takes a liking to the sincere colleague.

What happens

『君も出世ができる』（きみもしゅっせができる）は、東宝が1964年に製作したミュージカル映画。 日本を代表する観光会社（旅行代理店）「東和観光」の外人旅行課に勤務する山川善太は、仕事の後輩である中井剛と一緒にマイカーで通いながら出世の糸口を見つけようと励む、手段を選ばない高度成長時代の日本の典型的サラリーマンである。山川の音頭で海外出張を派手に見送られたあと、飛行機の都合で戻ってきた社長の片岡信吾は、自分の愛人であるクラブのホステスの服部紅子に金を渡すよう、空港に一人残っていた中井に依頼する。山川は中井に、紅子と仲良くなって「社長の弱みを握ること」（サラリーマン出世三ヶ条の第三条）を勧めるが、真面目で善人な中井は積極的になれない。そこへ、アメリカへ出張中だった片岡の娘の陽子が日本に帰国し、アメリカ的合理主義経営術で外人旅行課を運営しようとする。そして、陽子は中井の人柄に強く惹かれるようになる。 (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
