This is a Polish war film from 1964 about the horrors of the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz. It was directed by Wanda Jakubowska and based on an autobiographical story by Tadeusz Goluj, who also appears in a small role. Both the director and the writer survived the camp themselves.
