המניע לרצח הוא סרט קולנוע ישראלי מסוגת סרט פשע אפל משנת 1966, בבימויו של פיטר פריישטדט לפי תסריט מקורי של יוסף גרוס. עלילה הסרט היא חקירת רצח המתבצעת בזירת פשע בערב יום העצמאות. כמו בסרט בלשי חוקר קצין המשטרה את החשודים לחוד וביחד ולבסוף מכנס את כולם ואחד מתוודה. הסרט נאסר בתחילה להקרנה על ידי המועצה לביקורת סרטים ומחזות מסיבות שונות כמו - רצח בתוך אווירת חגיגות יום העצמאות, טיפוסים שליליים של החברה הישראלית, סצנות אירוטית בסרט והזכרת השואה באופן לא כל כך חיובי. לאחר מחאות אושר הסרט והוויכוח עליו סייע להפצתו.
