Begründung eines Urteils ist ein vom Westdeutschen Rundfunk (WDR) produzierter Fernsehfilm aus dem Jahr 1966, der unter der Regie von Eberhard Itzenplitz entstand und am 29. Juni 1966 im Gemeinschaftsprogramm der ARD erstmals ausgestrahlt wurde. Der Fernsehfilm basiert auf einem Drehbuch von Wolfgang Menge und orientiert sich an dem Fall Fritz Hanke, eines Stabsgefreiten der Grenztruppen der DDR, der im Jahr 1962 einen DDR-Bürger (Peter Reisch) bei einem Fluchtversuch an der innerdeutschen Grenze bei Schierke im Harz niedergeschossen hatte und dem anschließenden Prozess 1963 vor einer Schwurgerichtskammer des Landgerichts in Stuttgart, nachdem Hanke im gleichen Jahr in die Bundesrepublik geflüchtet war.
