Hvordan er tilværelsen der? Disse og lignende spørgsmål søger filmen at give svar på ved at skildre liv og natur rundt omkring i Grønland i dag, i vestkystens udviklingsbyer, på østkystens mindre udviklede bopladser og på den store Thule-base helt i nord.
