Fade In is a 1968 American romantic drama film starring Burt Reynolds and Barbara Loden, released in 1973. It was filmed in tandem with the Silvio Narizzano film Blue, with its actors appearing unbilled in various scenes. When the film was released in 1973, it was credited to the pseudonym Alan Smithee (though the onscreen credit reads "Allen Smithee"), making it the earliest film to be shot to use that pseudonym.
