จัน ดารา เป็นภาพยนตร์ไทยที่ออกฉายในปี พ.ศ. 2520 ภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ดัดแปลงจากนิยายเรื่อง เรื่องของจัน ดารา ซึ่งอุษณา เพลิงธรรม เขียนลงพิมพ์เป็นตอน ๆ ในหนังสือพิมพ์ตั้งแต่ปี 2507 ถึงปี 2509 สร้างโดย เทพกรภาพยนตร์ อำนวยการสร้างโดย กิติมา เศรษฐภักดี กำกับโดย รัตน์ เศรษฐภักดี เขียนบทโดย ส. อาสนจินดา กำกับภาพโดย อดุลย์ เศรษฐภักดี เข้าฉายวันแรก 11 มีนาคม พ.ศ. 2520 ฉายครั้งแรกที่โรงภาพยนตร์เพชรรามาและโรงภาพยนตร์เพชรเอ็มไพร์ โดยภาพยนตร์นั้นได้ถูกดัดแปลงเนื้อหากลายเป็นเรื่องตลกโปกฮา จัน ดารา ฉบับนี้นับเป็นการดัดแปลงนิยายข้างต้นเป็นภาพยนตร์ครั้งแรก ยุคต่อมา เป็นภาพยนตร์อีก 2 ครั้ง ฉบับปี 2544 ซึ่งนนทรีย์ นิมิบุตร กำกับและฉบับ พ.ศ. 2555 กำกับโดย หม่อมหลวงพันธุ์เทวนพ เทวกุล ตามลำดับ (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
