A piac 1983-ban bemutatott színes magyar tévéfilmet, Mihályfy Sándor rendezte, a László-Bencsik Sándor által írt történet alapján. Egy budapesti piac működésének néhány napját mutatja be, hivatásos és amatőr színészek realista játékával, rajta keresztül bevilágít az 1970-es évek végén, 1980-as évek elején Magyarországon zajló sajátságos piacgazdasági reálfolyamat mélyére. A piacon hatalmi harc folyik, a szocialista hiánygazdaságra ráépült régi zöldséges maffia alulmarad a helyére tolakodó új erővel, a magángazdálkodó, magánkereskedő maffiával szemben.
