La película, enfocada en la historia de venganza y redención para un justiciero, tuvo su estreno el 22 de octubre de 1981 en los cines Teatro Juárez, Cine Reforma, Cinerama 2000, Cine Monterrey, Cine Colón, Cine Azteca, Cinema Norma y Cine Teatro Municipal Sara García en Guadalupe, Cinemas Gemelos Anáhuac I y Cine Principal en San Nicolás de los Garza, y en el Cinema del Valle, en San Pedro Garza García.
