What happens

《꾸러기 발명왕》은 한국에서 제작된 김청기 감독의 1984년 애니메이션 영화이다. 김청기 등이 제작에 참여하였다. 태양열 냄비를 연구하는 미라, 로보트를 개발 중인 강민, 토끼를 이용한 성장 촉진제를 연구하는 홍만이는 국민학교 같은반 친구들이다. 그러나 미라는 태양열 냄비로 퍼진 라면만 한 대접을 만들어내고, 홍만이는 엉뚱한 성장 촉진제를 먹였다가 토끼 1개 중대 규모는 족히 죽이는 만행(?)을 저지른다. 그러나 가난한 결손가정 자녀인 홍만이는 자존심이 강해 남에게 도움을 청하지 않고 홀로 연구를 계속한다. 거듭된 연구의 실패로 피로한 홍만이는 결국 쓰러지고, 불치병에 걸린 것으로 판명된다. 강민이와 미라는 친구인 홍만이를 대신해 대통령배 과학발명품 경진대회에 출전하여 영예의 과학기술처 장관상과 대통령상을 수상한다. 그러나 이러한 사실도 모른 채 홍만이는 사경을 헤메는데.....
