What happens

This Is England is a British drama franchise consisting of a film and three subsequent television miniseries. The four instalments in the franchise focus on the coming-of-age of a group of people and the evolution of different British youth subcultures, spanning the years between 1983 and 1990 in a town in the East Midlands of England. The original film was written and directed by Shane Meadows. The writer for the follow-up series This Is England '86, This Is England '88, and This Is England '90 was Jack Thorne, in collaboration with Meadows. Tom Harper directed the first two episodes of This Is England '86, while Meadows directed the latter two episodes and every episode of the further two series. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
