Pimeys odottaa on Pauli Pentin ohjaama elokuva vuodelta 1985. Se oli ensimmäinen Pentin kahdesta omasta ohjauksesta. Villealfa-tuotantoyhtiössä apulaisohjauksia tehnyt Pentti ei saanut tuotantotukea, joten Mika Kaurismäki lupasi Villealfan rahoituksen.
