It stars Scott Glenn, Jade Malle, Joe Pesci, Brooke Adams, Danny Aiello, Paul Shenar, and Jonathan Pryce. Glenn plays Christian Creasy, an ex-CIA agent hired as a bodyguard to the daughter of a wealthy Italian family, who is targeted for kidnapping. A French and Italian co-production, the film premiered on September 4, 1987, to a mixed critical reception. Another film adaptation was released in 2004, also produced by Milchan.
