The 3D catalogue: film cases on wooden shelves, with the cat sitting at the counter next to its greeting.

The catalogue in 3D

The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this film is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

How it feels

This is a short black and white stop-motion animation commissioned by MTV. A damaged doll with big eyes, metal spoons, and metal shavings move around like they are alive in a frosted world.

What happens

Dramolet – animacja braci Quay z 1988 roku. Dorobek szwajcarskiego pisarza obejmował wiersze, opowiadania i inne krótkie formy – angielskie słowo dramolet oznacza krótki dramat. Ostatnie lata życia Walser spędził w sanatorium w Herisau, gdzie zmarł. Muzyka (utwór Stille Nacht) użyta w animacji jest autorstwa Izydora Hoffmana, dyrygenta Blata Gimnasium Children′s Orchestra. Sama animacja jest wysublimowaną, czarno-białą impresją, w której główne role odgrywają zniszczona, wielkooka lalka, metalowe łyżki i metalowe wióry, obdarzone własnym życiem i zachowujące się jak szron. Na zamówienie MTV bliźniacy stworzyli jeszcze rok później animację Ex-Voto i logo. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
