How it feels

A 12-year-old boy named Rolf finds his great-grandmother's diary after she dies, which tells of her life as a Polish immigrant worker in Denmark around 1912. When a refugee family from Sri Lanka moves into his building, Rolf befriends their daughter Hari and helps her face racist bullying at school.

En fremmed piges dagbog er en dansk ungdomsfilm fra 1989 med instruktion og manuskript af Katia Forbert Petersen. Den tolvårige Rolfs oldemor dør. I en efterladt dagbog fortæller hun om sit liv som indvandret polsk roepige på Falster omkring 1912. Historien gentager sig for Rolf, da en flygtningefamilie fra Sri Lanka flytter ind i opgangen, hvor han bor. Pigen i familien, Hari, bliver hans sidekammerat i klassen.
