Zdjęcia były kręcone w Warszawie, a za jak i przed kamerą była polska ekipa filmowa. Po premierze film otrzymał mieszane recenzje, ale nawet krytycy, którzy zarzucali filmowi, że jest infantylną fantazją zagłady, chwalili jego niezwykłą formę i poetycki nastrój.
