How it feels

A young man returns from America to Iran, where his father, a police officer, arranged for him to marry his cousin. The son had lied about studying abroad and instead fell in with a con artist who is now arrested by the father. Desperate to get money and go back to America, he takes a job at a jewelry shop and eventually conspires with the owner's stepdaughter and a group of thieves to rob the store. The father overhears the plan and when the robbery goes wrong, he shoots his own son.

What happens

شانس زندگی فیلمی به کارگردانی و نویسندگی شهریار پارسی‌پور محصول سال ۱۳۷۰ است. ابراهیم پسر يك درجه دار نيروي انتظامي از آمريكا مي آيد و قرار و مدار ازدواج او با دختر دايي اش گذاشته مي شود. برخلاف تصور پدر فرزندش در آمريكا تحصيل نكرده و دائم دنبال كارهای پیش پا افتاده بوده. كلاه برداري كه به تازگي توسط درجه دار دستگير شده رييس پسر او بوده و با دستگيري او جوان شانسي براي زندگي نمي بيند. جوان درصدد است تا با جمع آوري مقداري پول به آمريكا بازگردد، اما به بن بست مي رسد. پدر دست او را در يك جواهر فروشي به كار بند مي كند. دختر خوانده ي صاحب جواهر فروشي نيز مصمم است به آمريكا برود. دختر مي كوشد سهم ارثش را از پدر بگيرد، اما موفق نمي شود. او و مرد جوان براي رسيدن به آرزوهاي شان اقدام به ازدواج مصلحتي مي كنند، اما نتيجه اي نمي گيرد، به ناچار باگروهي سارق حرفه اي تباني مي كنند تا به جواهر فروشي دستبرد بزنند. درجه دار به طور اتفاقي مكالمه آن ها را از طريق بي سيم مي شنود. سارقان در حين فرار دستگير مي شوند و پدر، پسرش را كه قصد گريز دارد با گلوله از پا درمي آورد.
