It documents a single concert performance at the Stadio Flaminio in Rome where the stage was placed in the center of the stadium with the audience all around. The setup was a world first for a pop music show and won an award from Billboard magazine.

What happens

Oltre una bellissima notte è il primo video-concerto del cantautore italiano Claudio Baglioni, pubblicato nel 1991. Il video documenta il concerto a tappa unica tenuto dal cantautore il 3 luglio 1991 allo Stadio Flaminio di Roma a seguito del successo dell'album Oltre. Il concerto è considerato il primo nella storia della musica popolare mondiale in cui l'artista si esibisce non in fondo, ma al centro dello spazio disponibile con gli spettatori tutt'intorno: il palco si trovava infatti al centro dello stadio e gli spettatori sedevano sulle gradinate e sul campo da gioco; l'originalità dell'allestimento scenico fece vincere a Oltre una bellissima notte il premio come "Miglior concerto dell'anno nel mondo" conferito dalla rivista statunitense Billboard. Il 3 luglio 1991 il concerto viene trasmesso in diretta televisiva su Rai 1, seguito da oltre 11 milioni di telespettatori. La serata è preceduta da un’edizione speciale del telegiornale dedicata all’evento e introdotta da una telecronaca che si apre con le parole: «Un pubblico intorno e l’artista al centro, è il primo al mondo Claudio Baglioni. Buonasera telespettatori di Rai1, siete in collegamento dallo Stadio Flaminio in Roma: state per assistere al concerto di ritorno di Claudio Baglioni». Lo spettacolo viene successivamente pubblicato in home video nel novembre dello stesso anno in formato VHS e riproposto nel 2015 in edizione DVD. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
