How it feels

בית הוא סרט ישראלי עלילתי-תיעודי קצר שיצא ב-1994. בית הוא סרט הגמר של הבמאי והתסריטאי דוד אופק בבית הספר סם שפיגל לקולנוע ולטלוויזיה, ירושלים. סרט זוכה פרסים, אשר נבחר כאחד מעשרת סרטי בית הספר הטובים ביותר בכל הזמנים. הסרט מתאר אירועים מתקופת מלחמת המפרץ (שהתרחשה כשלוש שנים לפני הפקת הסרט) בבית הוריו של אופק ברמת גן כאשר סבתו באה לשהות איתם בתקופת המלחמה. בין האזעקות והשהיה בחדר האטום בני המשפחה צופים בתמונות המלחמה מעיראק, ומנסים לזהות את בית המשפחה הישן בבגדאד מצילומי האוויר של ההפצצות, ותוך כדי כך מעלים זכרונות על הבית ועל עזיבתו עם העלייה ארצה. הסרט דן בנושאים של הזהות של הישראלים שעלו מארצות ערב ומשפחותיהם, ויחסם לארץ מוצאם, כמו גם של זיכרון ושחזורו. בסרט הדמויות של הוריו וחברתו של אופק משוחקות על ידי שחקנים (שושה גורן, ששיתוף הפעולה שלה עם אופק המשיך אחר כך בסדרה "בת ים ניו יורק", משחקת את אימו, ואריה אליאס את אביו), אבל הוא וסבתו מופיעים בתפקידי עצמם, והסרט צולם בבית הוריו. ערבוב זה של סרט עלילתי ודוקומנטרי ושל שחקנים מקצועיים ואנשים שמשחקים את עצמם מוסיף גם הוא נדבך לעיסוק של הסרט בנושא הזיכרון והתיעוד.
