The Big Pink ist ein Dokumentarfilm von Kolin Schult, der 1996 mit dem Grimme-Preis ausgezeichnet wurde. Der Dokumentarfilm zeichnet anhand von Filmen die Geschichte einer Hippie-Familie nach. Die Familie besteht aus einer Frau, drei Männern und ihren sechs Kindern. Der Film verfolgt die Stationen ihres Lebensweges über mehr als zwei Jahrzehnte, unterstützt von privaten Super-8-Aufnahmen, der sie aus Deutschland über Kalifornien, Thailand, Portugal, Tansania bis auf eine Insel vor der Küste Senegals geführt hat. Den Film zeichnet ein Mix aus Interviews und Privataufnahmen aus und ist ein nostalgischer Rückblick auf die freie Liebe der Hippie-Ära.
