The 3D catalogue: film cases on wooden shelves, with the cat sitting at the counter next to its greeting.

The catalogue in 3D

The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this film is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

How it feels

This film follows an Ottoman pasha family in the empire's final years. They live carefree lives absorbed in pleasure and leisure, ignoring the future. Their eventual sad decline mirrors the empire's own fall.

What happens

Aylaklar, Melih Cevdet Anday'ın aynı adlı romanından Altuğ Savaşal tarafından uyarlanan film. Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun son dönemlerindeki çürümeyi ve bitişi bir paşa ailesini merkezine alarak anlatmaktadır. Hiçbir şeyi dert etmeyen, geleceği düşünmeyen, eğlenceli ve keyifli bir yaşamın akışına kapılıp giden bir eski paşa ailesinin hüzünlü sonu ile İmparatorluğun sonu arasındaki benzerliğin yansıtıldığı, Haluk Kurdoğlu, Nedret Güvenç, Tomris İncer ve Tolga Aşkıner'in rol aldığı 110 dakikalık film 1995 yılında İstanbul'da çekilmiştir.
