The catalogue in 3D
The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this film is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.
How it feels
This Finnish documentary is made up of multiple episodes that all take place within a single day in 1990s Helsinki. It shows different moments and people in the city, inspired by older city symphony films.

What happens
Kaupunkisinfonia on Heikki Aholan, John Websterin, Yrjö Niemisen, Outi Kaasisen, Ulrika Bengtsin, Ilkka Mertsolan, Mika Taanilan ja Roosa Toivosen ohjaama suomalainen useasta eri episodista koostuva dokumenttielokuva vuodelta 1995. Heikki Ahola toimi elokuvan lopullisena koostajana. Elokuva on dokumentti elämästä 1990-luvun Helsingissä, sijoitettuna yhden vuorokauden ajalle. Se on saanut alkunsa Taideteollisen korkeakoulun Elokuvataiteen laitoksella järjestetyltä dokumenttielokuvan historia -kurssilta, jolla esitettiin elokuvan syntyä innoittaneet elokuvat: Walter Ruttmannin Berliini: Suurkaupungin sinfonia (1927) sekä Dziga Vertovin Mies ja elokuvakamera (1929). Kurssin pohjalta joukko nuoria elokuvantekijöitä perusti Statiivinkantajat-yhdistyksen ja ryhtyivät suunnitelemaan nykyaikaan sijoitettua kaupunkisinfonia-elokuvaa. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
