How it feels
A group of young people in 1990s Tel Aviv and New York try to build successful lives but end up stuck in a cycle of empty work and unfulfilled dreams. The film follows their daily struggles and relationships during a period of aimless drifting.

ציפורים בניוטרל הוא סרט קולנוע ישראלי משנת 1996 בכתיבה, הפקה ובימוי של אייל שיראי וגלית אשכול, עם אייל שיראי ודנה מודן בתפקידים הראשיים. סרט זה הוא פרויקט שהחל כסרט גמר בקמרה אובסקורה וצולם בשכונת פלורנטין בתל אביב ובניו יורק. הסרט מתאר את חייהם של קבוצת צעירים בשנות ה-90 מה שמכונה דור האיקס. לצעירים יש תוכניות להצליח ולפרוח מעלה כציפורים אבל הם למעשה "עובדים על ריק" ומכאן השם "ציפורים בניוטרל". בפסקול הסרט יש שירים בביצוע כפיר בן ליש, סמיר שוקרי, זקני צפת ועוד. מהפסקול התפרסמו השירים "אמרת שאין לך קשר" (מילים גלית אשכול, לחן מיכל ברושי) בביצועו של כפיר בן ליש שכיכב כמה שבועות בראש רשימת ההשמעות בגלי צה"ל והשיר "על מי את עובדת" שמושר בסוף הסרט על ידי סמיר שוקרי ושאר השחקנים.
