Der Film war sein letztes Werk und erschien erst nach seinem Krebstod im Februar 2003. Der Film trägt Züge einer schwarzen Komödie und nimmt, in zeitgemäßer Erscheinung, zu zwei Filmen Bezug: die von Hauptdarsteller W. C.
