New Police Story is a 2004 Hong Kong action thriller film directed by Benny Chan. It stars Jackie Chan, Nicholas Tse, Charlie Yeung, Charlene Choi, and Daniel Wu. The film follows an inspector who seeks redemption by vowing revenge after a gang of bank robbers killed his entire squad. It was released theatrically in Hong Kong on 24 September 2004. New Police Story is a darker reboot of the Police Story series and is the fifth installment of the series. New Police Story relies much more on drama and violence than its predecessors.
