The film was co-written, directed, and produced by Charles Shyer, the last feature film he directed to be theatrically released. Alfie was released by United International Pictures in the United Kingdom on October 22, 2004 and by Paramount Pictures in the United States on November 5, 2004. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office bomb, grossing $35.1 million against a $60 million budget. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
