In Her Shoes is a 2005 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Curtis Hanson and written by Susannah Grant, based on the 2002 novel of the same name by Jennifer Weiner. It stars Cameron Diaz, Toni Collette, and Shirley MacLaine. The plot follows the conservative, serious Rose who cuts ties with her irresponsible, partier sister Maggie after catching her in bed with Rose's boyfriend. Later, they inadvertently discover Ella, the grandmother neither knew existed. In Her Shoes premiered at the 2005 Toronto International Film Festival, and was released in the United States on October 7, 2005, by 20th Century Fox.
