À Gembloux, en Belgique, des milliers de tirailleurs algériens et marocains sont enterrés à la suite d'une bataille qui s'y est déroulée. Le film retrace l'histoire héroïque d'un bataillon marocain faisant reculer les efforts de guerre de la Wehrmacht.
