In der Hauptrolle verkörpert Silke Bodenbender die Tochter Rosa des patriarchisch geprägten Vaters Friedrich Liebmann (Hans Peter Hallwachs), die in jungen Jahren in die USA auswandert und erst nach Deutschland zurückkehrt, als ihr Vater seinen 70.
