How it feels
A filmmaker finds old photos and documents in a green dumpster. He traces the family in the pictures, the Volkovitz family, whose story mirrors that of Israel. The parents are Holocaust survivors who came to the country after the war. Their son was killed in the Yom Kippur War and their daughter died due to medical negligence while trying to get pregnant. The director's voice is the only one heard throughout the film.

תעלומה במכולה הירוקה הוא סרט דוקו-בלשי של הבמאי טל חיים יופה שבו הבמאי עוקב אחרי תולדות משפחה, שלא הכיר קודם, בעקבות מציאה מקרית של תמונות ומסמכים משפחתיים במכולת אשפה ירוקה. במהלך הסרט מתגלה לנו משפחה, משפחת וולקוביץ, שסיפורה הוא למעשה סיפורה של המדינה: ההורים הם זוג ניצולי שואה שהגיעו לארץ לאחר המלחמה, בנם יליד הארץ, בחור יפה תואר, נהרג במלחמת יום הכיפורים ובתם, ממייסדי שלום עכשיו, נפטרה עקב רשלנות רפואית בניסיונה להיכנס להריון. בסרט נשמע רק קולו של הבמאי, גם כשהוא משוחח עם בני המשפחה נשמע ברקע קולו שלו שמתאר את תוכן השיחה. זהו סרטו השני של טל יופה. גם סרטו הבא, "קלמנטינה" עוסק בחקירת תולדות משפחה - הפעם משפחתו שלו.
