How it feels
Two university graduates fall in love while searching for jobs in Egypt. They end up working at a car garage and selling toys on the street, but their dreams keep failing. After much suffering, they decide to end their lives. The film mixes harsh reality with black comedy and has a tragic ending rare in Egyptian cinema.

What happens
ماشيين بالعكس فيلم مصري من إنتاج عام 2008. تدور أحداث الفيلم من خلال قصة حب بين شاب وفتاة من خريجي الجامعة يبحثان عن فرصة عمل لحياة كريمة ولكن تتحطم أحلامهم وآمالهم على صخرة البطالة، ويضطرون للعمل في كراج للسيارات وبعضهم باعة جائلين لألعاب الأطفال على الأرصفة. إلى أن التقوا بابن الحارة محمد شرف الذي يعمل بقرية سياحية في شرم الشيخ ويعملون معه، ومع ذلك لا يحققون أحلامهم وتفشل قصة حبهم. في نهاية الأحداث بعد سلسلة كبيرة من المعاناة، قرر البطل والبطلة الانتحار. وهي نهاية مأساوية غير مألوفة في السينما المصرية حيث من المعروف أن جمهور المشاهدين دائمًا يحب النهايات السعيدة عكس هذا الفيلم. ورغم أن الفيلم يناقش الواقع بقسوة وجرأة شديدة إلا أنه يعالجها في إطار كوميدي، يطلق على هذا النوع من الفنون الكوميديا السوداء.
