The 3D catalogue: film cases on wooden shelves, with the cat sitting at the counter next to its greeting.

The catalogue in 3D

The film shelves have a room of their own that you can walk around in. The cat behind the counter is the AI Catbot, and they pick real films from the same catalogue when you tell them what you feel like watching. Nothing is for sale, here or in there. Go in from here and this film is already out on the counter, with more like it waiting on the shelf next to it.

How it feels

This documentary is built around 8 mm home movies found at a flea market by director Antti Seppänen. The footage belonged to a Finnish ship engineer named Oiva Kovanen. The film pieces together fragments from his life to create a portrait of a man and his era.

What happens

Jäävuoren varjoon on vuonna 2009 valmistunut, Antti Seppäsen ohjaama suomalainen dokumenttielokuva. Elokuva perustuu pääosin ohjaaja Seppäsen helsinkiläiseltä kirpputorilta löytämään 8 mm kaitafilmimateriaaleihin. Kaitafilmit paljastuivat osaksi kotkalaisen laivakonemestari Oiva Kovasen (1911–2001) jäämistöä. Elokuvaa tehtiin lähes seitsemän vuotta. Elokuvan televisioensi-ilta oli 8. huhtikuuta 2012 Yle Teemalla. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
