Rives est le premier long-métrage réalisé par Armel Hostiou. La première du film a lieu au festival de Cannes 2011 dans la programmation de l'ACID. Le film est ensuite présenté dans plusieurs festivals internationaux: Festival international du film de São Paulo, Miami European Film Festival, Festival international du film du Kerala, Tokyo Tama Cinema Forum. A New York il reçoit le Curator's Choice à la BAMcinématek lors du Young French Cinema Festival de 2012. La bande originale est signée par plusieurs groupes emblématiques de la scène parisienne des années 2010: Poni Hoax, Sir Alice, Mohamed Lamouri, Fantazio.
