The film started after citizens protested a plaque for a controversial historical figure. It examines what drives people who push for a strong national identity.

What happens
Krehká identita je slovensko-český dokumentárny film autorky Zuzany Piussi. Podľa oficiálnej správy distribútora film „ponúka zamyslenie sa nad národnou identitou a ukazuje súčasných „pseudonárodných" buditeľov inak, ako ich poznáme z médií“. Pri počiatku filmu stála udalosť v Bytči, kde občania bránili tabuľu na dome Jozefa Tisa. Podľa Miloša Krekoviča ide film, na rozdiel od iných, do súkromia svojich nacionalistických aktérov. Krehká identita bola produkovaná slovenskou spoločnosťou Ultrafilm v koprodukcii s českou Produkce Radim Procházka. Na podporu filmu dostala Piussi grant 15 tisíc € od Audiovizuálneho fondu a približne rovnakú sumu od českého koproducenta. Distribúciu však už fond nepodporil. Práca na filme trvala Piussi dva a pol roka. Medzinárodnú premiéru mal na Medzinárodnom festivale dokumentárnych filmov v Jihlave 25. októbra 2012. Slovenská premiéra sa uskutočnila 9. januára v bratislavskom kine Lumiére. V kinách ho uvádza Asociácia slovenských filmových klubov (ASFK) od 10. januára 2013. Film Krehká identita získal Cenu Jedného sveta v sekcii Slovenský dokumentárny film 2012 13. filmového festivalu dokumentárnych filmov Jeden svet. (from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA)
