The franchise is centered upon Cassandra "Cassie" Nightingale (Catherine Bell), the titular "good witch" who uses her abilities to bring positive change in the lives of those around her. The franchise was launched with the 2008 film The Good Witch, which aired on the Hallmark Channel on January 19, 2008.
