Rafael Gareisen, Laura Louisa Garde und Marie Gruber spielen die Hauptrollen. Der Film beruht auf dem gleichnamigen Märchen von Wilhelm Hauff und wurde für die ZDF-Reihe Märchenperlen produziert.
